Policy & Procedure

Operation processes and procedures 

  • As a registered marriage celebrant, I will adhere to the Code of Practice at all times which includes but is not limited to; 

    • Appropriate personal presentation for marriage ceremonies; 

    • Punctuality for marriage ceremonies; 

    • Accuracy in preparation of documents and in the conduct of marriage ceremonies 

    • Comply with the requirements of the Marriage Act 1961 and the Marriage Regulations 2017

    • Observe the laws of the Commonwealth and of any State or Territory in which the marriage is solemnised 

    • Avoid unlawful discrimination in the provision of marriage celebrancy services

    • Giving the parties to marriage information and guidance on choosing and composing a marriage ceremony as well as conducting a rehearsal if needed or appropriate

    • Commitment will be made to ensure arrival at the wedding venue no later than 20 minutes prior to ceremony 

    • All legal marriage documentation will be lodged with the relevant Births, Deaths and Marriages in the state where the ceremony took place within 14 days of the ceremony

Privacy & Confidentiality

  • A suitable location will be agreed upon with the parties to the marriage for any required meetings

  • Reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that any locations for meetings allow for privacy when dealing with personal documents and information

  • Information collected will remain private and only used for the purposes you agree to for the services of conducting a marriage ceremony

Invoicing & refunds

  • A $250 booking fee is required to save your date

  • By paying a deposit, you agree to the details outlined in the quote given and information included in the Policies & Procedures document

  • Booking fees are non-refundable

  • Invoices and receipts will be provided in a timely manner

  • The final payment is required 3 weeks prior to your wedding

  • Any changes to proposed ceremony (date, time, location) will be considered and reasonable efforts made to accommodate changes, however are subject to availability

Document recording and storage

  • Personal client details and confidential documents will be always stored securely in lockable filing cabinets, and password protected devices. 

Equipment maintenance and servicing

  • All equipment owned, such as PA and Microphones will be maintained on a regular basis and stored in a way to prevent damage. 

  • If for some reason equipment is damaged during the clients event by a client or by a guest, the cost to repair/replace the equipment will be payable by the client. 

Marketing

  • You give permission for use of images by celebrant on platforms such as social media, websites and marketing material for the purposes of marketing and testimonials. It is up to the discretion of The Parties to advise celebrant should there be any issues with this.

Stationery ordering

  • All stationary and legal documents required to perform the duties of a marriage celebrant will be kept current and will only be purchased or downloaded from official Australian Government supplier CanPrint Communications
